Hmmm, yeah, this is why I never bother going to watch road races, whether it be bikes or crazy marathoners. Not at all interesting. But if you know someone in the race I supposed you gotta be there.

Hey Anonymous--I'm not sure what radio here has been transmitting news about the Vuelta Mexico. I would google the cycling race and see what their website says. Sorry I can't be more help.

And Cubbie Gal--My video certainly paints the race as slow. But in actuality is was really fun. And I would argue the same for every marathon to which I've been, as well. The bike race was great because we were so close to the action. I got to see a super fast wheel change, some pros take a 90-degree turn at an incredible velocity and an international event taking place in the colonial center of Oaxaca (which never happens here).

As for marathons, I don't think it's exciting to watch the running as a sport. But the marathons I've seen in NY were fun largely for the outpouring of support from those on the sidelines. It's something to witness strangers cheering for strangers...to see bands every ten blocks rocking out in order to give the runners more energy as they pass. It's incredible.

You know, watching football on TV is like scraping nails across a blackboard to me. So, to each his/her own. :)
