I just got word that my fish died today. I got him with my friend, Frank back in September of 2006. We shared custody. So when it was time for me to leave NYC, Frank took him to his apartment in Queens. He was a beta fish, so they don't have that long of a life expectancy, I know. He really beat the odds, living as long as he did. But still...

I laughed, I cried, I was moved .... ok, so I never met this fish in my list and was totally expecting some dramatic dead fish shot at the end of this slide show. It didn't happen, so I guess that means either Frank was kind enough not to send it to you, or you tastefully didn't include it in your eulogy.
Next time get a pet that has an expected life span of more than a year.
But why? Isn't there something beautiful about a flame that burns brightly but not for a long time...? Eh?
And yes, we couldn't really include photos of the poor, deceased Doug because his face fell off in the end. No joke.
I am back to reading your blog - you probably have no recollection, as I was a stranger then, too. I still laugh until it hurts.
Um...how in the world did Doug die that his face fell off?!
